Holi Festival.

So me and my bitches went to the Holi Festival -  first time ever in Berlin, Germany.

I need to say, it was ton of fun!! I love the party you can get TRULY DIRTY (not

HORNY, plz). In the begining we were thinking about to stay for couple hours then go

home, since we woke up at 7AM because I want to check out Berghain first. But oh

you know, this is kind of party you shouldn't leave earlier, need to stay till the end.

So here's the video of everyone throw those colors to the sky together (I don't know

why so many dislike on this video, maybe just hipster-haters):

Here's more pictures from the party, of course we were clean on the first picture, then

just everything went wrong. lol

Fun, right?

Don't Kill The Shida hood in Taipei.

It's the weird feeling that you're in somewhere else, but your life in your own homeland

is falling apart.

I bet someone you guys heard about Taipei, some even been to Taipei,

but now they trying to take away the most fascinating area in Taipei- The Shida

Night Market. In the past of 20 years, this area developed the most interesting and

creative scene with great artist and designer, also nice coffee shop and the iconic live

house "Underworld". And here's the article from the writer from Lonely Planet,

about his feeling with Shida and Taipei. The article was released on Taipei Times

today:

By killing off Shida’s cafes, international restaurants and culture spaces, is Taipei shooting itself in the foot? Several international travel writers contacted by the Taipei Times seem to think so. They say the move makes Taipei look bad and compare the current situation to a crackdown by China’s Communist Party.
“The saddest and most ironic thing about this Shida initiative is that the Shida neighborhood pioneered the scene that has made Taipei the vibrant, cosmopolitan city it is today,” says Chris Taylor, novelist and Lonely Planet author.
Lonely Planet lists Taiwan as one of its “top 10 countries for 2012,” and the latest Taiwan guidebook rates Shida as Taipei’s second best night market, after Shilin.
“Taipei now has a nightlife and dining scene that rivals any in the region and can give many major international cities a run for their money,” says Taylor. “But in 1989, when I first took an apartment in the district, it was really the only place in town where you could step out outside and enjoy a neighborhood cup of coffee, a beer and edible Western cuisine.”
“Tearing out the heart of Shida by shutting down the very businesses that have for so long defined it is no better than the ‘red is best’ revival staged by recently disgraced Chongqing head, Bo Xilai (薄熙來),” he continues. “Beyond that, it’s difficult to imagine Taipei without Shida, and its neighborhood association is doing a grave and irresponsible disservice to the city. Shida belongs to Taipei, not to a community association of curmudgeonly kill-joys.”
“As a travel writer and longtime friend of Taiwan I urge the government to protect the people and culture of Shida,” implores Joshua Samuel Brown, author of eight Lonely Planet guidebooks, including the most recent two guides on Taiwan.
Brown views Shida as “Taipei’s Greenwich Village” and believes it stands out for its “vibrant cafe culture, its night market, and the people who call it home.”
Brown feels the city government’s recent decision to stop tourism promotion of the Shida Night Market, along with the Yongkang Street food neighborhood, is “a stupid move that will only hasten the neighborhood’s demise at the hands of rapacious real estate developers.”
As for the city’s crackdown on the 16-year-old rock club Underworld, he says, “Obviously I’m deeply saddened by it. Underworld was a great little club, Taipei’s CBGBs. What’s happening to Shida is the sort of thing I’d expect to see in Beijing, not in Taipei.”
New York Times travel writer Matt Gross says that in recent visits to Shida, he found that “there was just so much going on there, from the crazy variety of international restaurants (including multiple worthy burger joints) to the effortlessly hip boutiques. It had the energy of Ximending, but with a more homegrown, grown-up, honest feel to it.”
“What I’ve always loved about Taiwan is the culture, the way people create street life and community when they’re not given specific direction by the authorities,” says Gross. “If you want to see, or feel, what Taipei is about, don’t go to the second tallest building in the world. Go to a smaller night market, head off into the smaller streets, and take your time getting to know the people and the atmosphere there.”
But when it comes to the current changes in Shida, Gross believes, “the smarter approach would be to help the extant businesses relocate and re-adapt, maintaining the cultural life that’s grown up in the neighborhood.”
“Here’s what I always say when people ask me how their city, state, or nation can attract more tourists: Don’t develop for tourists’ sake,” Gross continues. “Make your city, state, or nation a better place for its citizens, and tourists will follow, hoping to participate in a novel, vibrant scene. That’s what we do here in New York, you know, and it’s worked out pretty well.”

We might not as good as those people who are in charge of our homeland,
but at least we know what the right thing to do to stand on our ground.

The Shit Shop.

Sorry for the late update!! Have been busy with Berlin Fashion Week and showing

my friends from taiwan around - PetShopsGirl Joe and Andy, so haven't really had

time to update something. But finally I have time now!!

Thanks for the king of Berlin, my friend Tosch took us to Bonnie Strange's new

shop fashion show and after party. So who's Bonnie Strange? She's the icon of the

Berlin street fashion at the moment, kinda like Lady Gaga but the only difference is

she's not  a singer. So she's going to open a shop in 2 weeks, calls "The Shit Shop",

and she made this party and fashion show. And I saw Peaches was there too!!

So the show was pretty cool, so many stuff I want to try on for sure. And I like the

models she choose were not that pretty, but all got pretty strong character when they

walk on the runway. I remember the first model she was like small version of Beth

Ditto, but when she starts walking on the runway, you know this gonna be a great

show.

Anyway, the show was great, party was fun, drinks was free, Bonnie was nice.

Hopefully she's working on her shop really hard now, 'cuz I want to go visit "The Shit

Shop"for sure!

Alice-n-Tosch Launch Party.

Those clutchs and bags are just Beautiful!! My friend Mr. Tosch had a party on

wednesdays' night for his new season collection of his brand, " Alice-n-Tosch".

I remember last year when I was in Berlin,  I though the bags are pretty cool already

but now they're even cooler!! My favorite was the one with green feathers, and also

on the shoulder when you carry it as well. That bag is so pretty, no wonder women

would killed for a nice bag - little creative can make your whole style different.

Sorry I can't post those new bags here, 'cuz most of it was sold out on the release

party. But anyway, find "Alice-n-Tosch" on facebook, or check here:

Now get a new bag and ready to party out!

Bread & Butter Day 1.

I need to say, the place was fuckin' HUGE!! A lot of thing need to see, but my feet just

hurt after 2 hours walking. So "Bread & Butter" is actually a trade fair organization

for the street fashion in Germany. You can see all the brand with their new season

collection. And my favorite so far is Adidas Original. There was one jacket from

crazy Jeremy Scott, I really fuckin' want it!

Is it gorgeous?

Very cool woman wedge shoes!

Also they have a denim runaway show like every 2 hours as well, and you'll be

surprised why everyone love denim and why this material can stay in the fashion

industry for so long. Here's the video from Bread & Butter official website, also

include the footage from the opening party. And the Skeleton Boy was there too.
